We encourage runners who are blind or visually impaired to register for The County Marathon. Fanny Packs

When you register you will given a customized fanny pack while supplies last (shirts were unavailable this year due to covid-related logistics).


Entry fees are non-refundable under all circumstances. Once your entry form has been received, you will not receive a refund for any reason however a deferral of your entry to 2023 is possible. The County Marathon, in accordance with the Marathon Committee, Board of Directors, County Officials and local Law Enforcement has the authority to cancel any of the events for emergency purposes such as, but not limited to, inclement weather. If such emergency conditions force cancellation, refunds cannot be provided since funds will have been spent in preparation for Race Day.

Any changes/corrections must be completed on-line by the registrant. Changing to an event that is already sold out is not permitted. The last date for a registrant to make corrections to their entry is October 1st 2022 at 11:59 p.m. If you have any questions please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. A transfer is to be used if you can no longer run and you wish to transfer your entry to another person. You are responsible to find someone who wants to take your entry. Transfers can be officially be completed up until September 7, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. To complete a transfer login to Raceroster and click on, “Transfer Request” option from participant dashboard & registration page. The person who is accepting the transfer must press accept and pay the transfer fee. After this has been done, they will be able enter their information as the new participant. Once this is completed and submitted the original participant is deleted from the database and the new participant is entered.

Walkers are welcome in all events. Walkers should note the following time limits apply: 1/2 Marathon – 4 Hours and Marathon – 6 Hours. These times limits will be strictly enforced. We do have 1/2 hour early start options - please be on time for the 7:30 Full and Ultra starts in Wellington and 9:30 half marathon start at County Roads 12 and 18. All walkers/runner who are on the route beyond our time limits will be asked to move to the shoulder of the road or onto the sidewalk.


Please note that service animals are the only animals permitted on The County Marathon route.

In order to have a service animal accompany you during your race please follow the procedures below:
1. Please provide documentation by an accredited assistance animal program or the equivalent in advance for approval.
2. The service animal must be on a leash at all times and must wear an identification harness during the event.
3. The owner is responsible for cleaning up after their service animal.
4. Race officials have the right to refuse participation if the service animal poses a safety concern.

We encourage all out of town participants to book their hotel rooms as early as possible as availability may be limited as you get closer to the Race Weekend.


Race Kit Pick-Up is located in the Rotary Hall at the Prince Edward Community Centre.

Saturday October 1st: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm



The Full Marathon & Team Challenge start at 8:00am. For anyone planning to be 5 ½ hours or longer there will be an early 7:30am start for the Full Marathon and Ultra.

The 1/2 Marathon starts at 10:00 am. For anyone planning to be 3 ½ hours or longer there will be an early 9:30 am start for the ½ Marathon.


Parking is at the Picton Fairgrounds (located at the Prince Edward Community Centre – 375 Main St., Picton).  Runners will be transported to start lines via buses.  For the safety of runners, no unauthorized people, vehicles or bicycles are permitted on the route. These are official police road closures. You will be towed if you park on the main street outside the fairgrounds.


If you plan on getting yourself to the start of the full NOTE: Roads close at 7:30am No exceptions

Full Marathon and Ultra plan on being ready to board the bus for Wellington no later than 7 AM

Half Marathon plan on boarding the bus for the corner of County Roads 12 and 18 no later than 8 AM


Your chip is in your bib, you must wear it at all times. In order to ensure an accurate time, please do not fold or wrinkle the race bib or cover it with a jacket, runner belt, or any other item.


Check your bag at the start line for transport to the finish line (bag tag provided at race kit pick-up) Pick up at the Rotary Hall in Picton 100 metres east of the finish line.


Looking for a goal time? We are striving to have Pace Bunnies available for the Marathon and ½ Marathon. Times below will need to be confirmed by you at the start lines

Physiotherapists and massage therapists are available in the Rotary Hall at the finish line. The finish line will have emergency trained physicians and nurses. Ambulance crews will provide constant surveillance during the race.


Water stations will be located at every 4 km. Water will be offered at each station in bottles which you will need to open and then dispose of at the marked recycling locations (please) . Water will be offered first and then Gatorade in bottles will start appearing at the back of each station starting at the 12 KM mark. Energy gels will be offered at km 20 and at the Ultra turn around point. Port-a-Potties are located near water stations and start lines.


Every KM will be visibly marked.


The start line for the full marathon and Ultra will be in Wellington - very near the arena.

The start line for the half marathon will be in West Lake very near the corner of County Roads 12 and 18.

Runners must stay on the route at all times. We do have a closed route however we do ask that you stay to the right side of the road to leave the left for buses and emergency vehicles. During the final KM to the finish, pylons will direct you to the left. This is for safety and Boston Qualifying standards. Runners will be disqualified if they do not follow the race route.


For the safety of the runners, no unauthorized people, vehicles, scooter, bicycles or any other mechanical assistance are permitted on the race route. These are official police road closures. Please note our race route roads will begin to roll open to 2 way traffic at the 6-hour mark from the start of our Full Marathon (at approximately 2PM). Participants are welcome to continue finishing their race on our qualified route, however they will be required to move to the shoulder of the road.


Baby joggers and strollers are not permitted.


Dogs, with the exception of service animals, are not permitted on the race route.


While the use of headphones is permitted on the route, we recommend that the volume is kept at a level to hear oncoming buses and emergency vehicles.


Unofficial pacers or other unregistered participants are not permitted. (This does not apply to officially designated pace bunnies.) A participant who receives assistance during an event from anyone other than official medical personnel may be disqualified.


No individual who is not officially registered may join the event or accompany any participant on any part of the race route. Any person without an official race will be directed to leave the route immediately.


Your official bib number must be fully visible at all times and worn on the front of your torso. The timing device is attached to the back of your race number; in order to endure an accurate time, please do not fold or wrinkle the race number or cover it with a jacket, runner belt, water bottle, or any other item.


Participants agree to follow the instructions of The County Marathon, medical and police officials. Failure to follow the rules can result in disqualification.
