Awards,and Rules

All finishers will receive a commemorative medal. First, second and third place male and female finishers in each of the full and half marathon events will be awarded a 2nd medal at our awards ceremony. First, second and third place winners in the team challenge events (irrespective of designation) will be awarded a second medal at our awards ceremony.

First place finishers in the full marathon are awarded the Rolf Lund (male) or Gayle Ornikova (female) trophies.

Age group medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each age group for the marathon and half marathon events (<20, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+).

Medals will be awarded to the top three teams finishing in the mixed (a minimum of one male and one female runner), male and female team relay events. The first place mixed team will be awarded the Ducky Wight Mixed Team Challenge Trophy.

Runners may win awards and medals in more than one category if they are eligible.

County runner: To be eligible for the County runner award in the full and half marathon events, the participant must certify their primary residence on race day is within the legal limits of Prince Edward County. Students attending school, but whose parents / legal guardians reside in Prince Edward County are eligible for consideration.

Age restrictions: Participants in the full marathon must be at least 18 years old on race day. Participants in the half marathon and relay events must be at least 12 years of age on race day and require parental or legal guardian approval to participate.

Relay team: A relay team consists of a minimum of two and a maximum of 5 individual runners. Each runner must wear an official bib provided at registration. All team members must have provided a waiver of liability through the registration process.

Mixed team: A mixed team consists of a minimum of one male and one female runner per team.

Bicycles, strollers, and pets: For the safety of the athletes and emergency personnel no bicycles, in-line skates, skateboards, or other recreational wheeled devices are permitted on the course. Running strollers are permitted only with approval from the Race Coordinator. Absolutely no pets are allowed on the course during the event. No non-registered runner is allowed on the course. Violation of any of the above restrictions shall result in the immediate expulsion of the runner from the event.

Please note our race route roads will begin to roll open at the 6 hour mark from the start of our Full Marathon (at approximately 2PM). Participants are welcome to continue finishing their race on our qualified route, however they will be required to move to the shoulder of the road.
