This event wouldn’t be possible without the help of incredible people like you. We have several volunteer opportunities available on Race Day and will be updating our website shortly.

Volunteer Positions


Leading Up to September 29th (June, July, August & September):

  • Committee Member – Take on a leadership role with one of the many volunteer areas.
  • Social Media Communications – Post, share and updates on our social media channels.
  • Web Site Communications – Update, educate and provide information on web site.
  • Flyer/Posters Distributions – Go door to door educating businesses and residence of the marathon and how they may be affected on race day and how they can help support this great community event.
  • Volunteer Recruitments – Reach out to schools, groups and organizations on how they can help and profile their own organization.
  • Lawn Signs Along Route – Visit each business, farm and home along the route asking for their permission and support to post a lawn sign of the marathon to help educate and prepare for road closures. A great opportunity for the businesses or families to set-up a water station, snack station or cheering section with music or entertainment.
  • Refreshments and Food Area – Help research and secure refreshments and food.
  • Research and Source Equipment for Marathon Weekend – Help research and source equipment’s such as coolers, tables, chairs, safety vests and supplies required for the weekend.


Marathon Weekend (Friday, September 27th and Saturday, September 28th)

  • Race Kits – Help with putting together all the race kits for the participants before they come to pick-up on Pre-Registration Day. Bib numbers, race shirts and products.
  • Pre-Registration and Race Kits Pick-Up – Help participants to get their bib number, shirts and provide information for Sunday.
  • Registration – Help with last minutes registration or event changes for the participants.
  • Runners Expo – Help organize and deal with the vendors.
  • Route Signage – Drive the route and post any last minute’s signage that is required.
  • Drivers (preferably pick-up trucks)
  • Delivery of table, chairs, coolers, products, etc.


Race Day – Sunday, September 29th

  • Registration – Last minute registration, event changes for Timing Company.
  • Volunteer Coordinator Area – Volunteers check-in and get their assignment for the day. Hand out volunteer shirts or safety vests.
  • Greeters/Information Crew - Help with providing directions and instructions for participants & families as they arrive on race morning. Parking attendees etc.
  • Shuttle Bus Services – Help organizes with the planning of all the buses on race morning and bringing back participants race kits or personal belonings. Work with the student volunteers.
  • Bag Check – Help organizes all the participants belonging before, during and after the marathon.
  • Route Management Team – Coordinate all last-minute deliveries such as coolers, cups, products, tables, chairs and etc. along the route.
  • Signage Crew – Make sure all signage is delivered, set-up in the proper place.
  • Start Lines Area Crew – Help with set-up of the two starting points with equipment and volunteers. Then with take-down once the race has started.
  • Finish Line Area Crew – Help with set-up and clean-up.
  • Race Announcer Volunteers – Help with the announcers at both the Start Lines and Finish Line with whatever that may require.
  • Greeters/Information Crew - Help with providing directions and instructions for participants as they arrive on race morning. Parking attendees etc. Also help with providing information for families and spectators as they arrive to watch.
  • Refreshments and Food Area – Help set-up and organizes the refreshments and food areas for the participants, families and spectators.
  • Medals Volunteers – Help organize and pass out medals to the participants at the cross the Finish Line. Making sure participants receive their correct medal for whatever distances they completed.
  • Crowd Control Crew – Help navigate and ensure all spectators don’t interfere with participants and are out on the route.
  • Route Marshals Crew – Help manned a particular spot along the route to ensure the safety of all participants, pedestrians crossing and vehicles. Sometime working alongside OPP Officers.
  • Water Station Crew - Help with making sure all water stations have water, energy drinks, electrolytes, snacks, coolers, tables, signage, chairs, etc.
  • Clean-Up Crew – Help clean-up the Finish Line area when races are over.
  • Awards Ceremony – Help with dealing with all the awards.
