Course Description

Full Marathon/Hospital Foundation Team Challenge

The County Marathon weekend will start and finish in the same location as in previous years, however as it worked so well in 2016 we will use - The Picton Community Centre - 375 Main St., Picton. Again, this means you will park and finsih your race in the same area as in previous years, but the finish line location has moved streets and buildings.

Please note our race route roads will begin to roll open at the 6 hour mark from the start of our Full Marathon (at approximately 2PM). Participants are welcome to continue finishing their race on our qualified route, however they will be required to move to the shoulder of the road.

If you think you will be more than the 6 hours allotted please do speak with our Race Manager so she can identify you to our emergency response support.

Half Marathon Route

The shuttle service will pick you up at the Crystal Palace (registration and finish line area) and deliver you to the start line.  Start Time is 10:00 a.m. The route starts on County Road 12 near the Dunes of Sandbanks Park at the midway point of the marathon course.  Following paved roads through the Sandbanks, runners run pass by Lake Ontario, East Lake, and rural settings en route to the finish in Picton. This event includes some of the best scenery you would have seen on the marathon route...and really only leaves out the fun of running down the main streets of Wellington and Bloomfield.  Be sure to give yourself ample time to board the bus, warm-up, get your chip and check your bag onto the baggage check truck.
